Philosophy of the Ukrainian National Idea and Mykola Khvylovy: Historical and Cultural Aspect.

 

The monograph (204 p.) is the result of the fundamental scientific research of the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine on the topic Culture of Ukraine: historical and cultural dimensions.

Based on a wide range of sources, it covers conceptual foundations of the philosophy of the Ukrainian national idea, the evolution of which was analyzed on the materials of the Mykola Khvylovy’s works, one of the founders of the national modernism. The work specifies the form-developing role of culture during the transformation of the philosophy of the Ukrainian national idea. It features the development of the philosophy of Ukrainian national idea in Ukraine in the middle of the XIXth – first third of the XXth century. A characteristic feature of the book is its historical and cultural interpretation of the chosen problem. It pays particular attention to the modern stage of the evolution of the idea of Ukrainian national self-consciousness in general and its extrapolation to the Mykola Khvylovy’s creative heritage.

The monograph is for scientists, artists, culturologists, teachers of social-cultural, art-study disciplines, postgraduates, doctoral students, and readers who are interested in the problems of history and theory of culture of Ukraine.
