On 18 June 2026, the International Scientific and Practical Conference
“Artistic and cultural practices as instruments for the humanitarian understanding of War”,
was held, organized by the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, and the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
The event was moderated by Iryna Zubavina, Doctor of Arts, Professor, Full Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Academic Secretary of the Department of Cinema Arts of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
The discussion was joined by Hanna Chmil, Director of the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Full Member of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor.

The conference was held online and brought together international experts in the field of culture, practitioners, representatives of cultural and arts-oriented research institutions from various cities across Ukraine.
Among the active participants were members of the departments of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, researchers from the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine and the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, as well as representatives of other research institutions and non-governmental organizations, university lecturers, and postgraduate students from Ukrainian higher education institutions.
