Traditional Ukrainian Children’s Subculture through the Cognitive Cultural Studies.

 

The monograph (240 p.) is the result of the fundamental scientific research of the Institute for Cultural Research of the NAA of Ukraine on the topic Categorial and methodological apparatus of cultural anthropology as an instrument for the study of cultural development.

It, for the first time, researches forms of the traditional children’s subculture in the dimension of cognitive cultural studies. The work analyzes cognitive functions and implicit possibilities to form a worldview through children’s folklore, games, toys. The monograph considers sequence and peculiarities of mastering the time-spatial world and anti-world model in the system of cultural coordinates, reveals a powerful asset for the critical thinking development through children’s folklore, covers forming of emotional and value grounds of the individual within the cultural community. It describes the prognostic resource of traditional children’s games and folklore.

The publication is for experts in the field of ethnocultural and cultural anthropology, folklore and ethnology, ethnopsychology and ethno-pedagogy, students of educational institutions of art and culture, all those who are involved in the formation of personality in the space of Ukrainian culture.
