6 years ago, the founder and first Director of the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Minister of Culture in 1999-2007 (with interruptions), Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Yurii Bohutskyi passed away. On May 14, 2025, he would have turned 73 years old.

Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute for Cultural Research Olena Berehova and Academic Secretary of the Institute Inna Kuznietsova laid flowers on the grave of Yurii Bohutskyi at the Zvirynets cemetery and participated in the prayer for the deceased.

And then, the Institute’s employees, led by Director Hanna Chmil, in the building of the House of National Creative Collectives of Ukraine, the reconstruction of which was overseen by Yurii Bohutskyi in 2001-2003, recalled the years of joint work with him and successful scientific projects that contributed to the formation of a new field of knowledge in Ukraine – Culturology.

To commemorate the Institute’s founder, a biobibliographic essay “Academician Yurii Bohutskyi” has been posted in the Institutional Repository.
