Implementation of the research results of the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine into the educational process

Researchers of the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine continue to actively implement the results of fundamental scientific research into the training of young researchers and into the educational process.

In particular, Nadiia Honcharenko, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Monument Preservation, delivered a public lecture “Eliminate the threatening vs preserve the threatened: transformation of perception of the Cultural Heritage in Ukraine” as part of the International Conference of young researchers “Investigating the Past. Historian and Historical Studies facing the challenges of the Present,” held by the Department of History of the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” on April 7-8, 2025. The researcher presented considerations on the stages and factors of transformation of perception of the Cultural Heritage and the challenges associated with the preservation of imperial symbolism in the cultural space of Ukraine during the war.

On April 9, 2025, Nadiia Honcharenko gave a guest lecture for 3rd-year Cultural Studies students of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv as part of the course “Cultural Heritage and Folk Art of the world” on the topic: “STRATEGIES FOR PRESERVING PLACES OF MEMORY IN UKRAINE.” The lecture highlighted the issues of saturation of Ukraine’s cultural space with Soviet propaganda, the distortion of places of memory as a result of the colonial historical policy of the USSR, as well as the peculiarities of Ukraine’s historical policy regarding places of memory.
