VII International Scientific Conference “Problems of Methodology of Contemporary Art Studies and Cultural Studies”

On November 19, 2025, the opening and plenary session of the

VII International Scientific Conference
“Problems of Methodology of Contemporary Art Studies and Cultural Studies”,

organized by the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, the Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, and the Institute for Cultural Research of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine took place.

The conference was held online (Zoom platform), and was attended by representatives of Ukrainian scientific institutions of cultural and artistic interest and foreign experts in the field of culture.
Members of the NAAU sections, scientists of the Institute for Cultural Research of the NAAU and the Modern Art Research Institute of the NAAU, other scientific institutions, teachers and postgraduate students of higher educational institutions of Ukraine took an active part in the conference.

The conference covered a wide range of scientific, theoretical and practical issues, including:

  • Methodological strategies in modern cultural and art studies;
  • Ukrainian culture in wartime: transformations, representations, interactions;
  • Digital culture and post-media art: research perspectives;
  • Contemporary artistic practices: intersections of media, themes, and contexts;
  • Interdisciplinary research in the field of culture;
  • The museum as a space for preserving and reevaluating artistic heritage;
  • Culture and social experience: interpretations, transformations, memory.

The participants’ speeches were accompanied by lively discussions and debates.
